*Character Name: Blackarachnia -- Formerly known as Elita-1.
*Character Canon: TF: Animated

*Timeline/Pull Point: End of her canon, after Predacons Rising. Instead of being ported toBeast Wars ANIMAL ISLAND, she's ported here instead.
*History:
http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Blackarachnia_(TFA)
http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Blackarachnia_%28Animated%29
*Personality:
Blackarachnia wasn’t always a hateful 'spider-lady'. At one time she was known as Elita-1 -- an energetic and spunky Autobot Academy cadet. However, after a tragic accident, she calls herself Blackarachnia, and she hates her techno-organic body with a passion. In a desperate attempt to stay alive, Elita used her power -- absorbing another bot's ability -- on spiders, accidentally poisoning herself with their venom. This caused a strange chain reaction throughout her body and fused organic with metal -- successfully turning her techno-organic.
Blackarachnia feels nothing short of utter loathing for her organic parts, and the obsession to rid herself of them was slowly driving her completely insane. At one point in time, Blackarachnia was willing to do nearly anything to get rid of that half of her, regardless of who she has to crush in her path.
This mutation of hers fueled a newfound hatred of the Autobot cause, the Autobots themselves, and a quest for revenge that led her to join Megatron. She knew that if she went back to the Autobots she would be nothing but a fun experiment for their scientists and medics. Having originally been an Autobot, Blackarachnia knew very well what they were capable of and was completely unwilling to put herself in that particular line of fire.
It should be noted that Blackarachnia, while a Decepticon, isn't particularly loyal to the cause. They're a means to an end, and she sided with them only after the Autobots left her behind and rejected her. She has her own agenda, and sometimes doesn't even appear to be aware of what is going on in the war around her. Her drive to purge herself of her organic half pushes her and monopolizes so much of her thought, that there is little room for anything else.
She’s angry, spiteful and vengeful, but she still seems to have retained a few of Elita-1's traits. The feelings for Optimus are ‘hardwired’ into her systems, but she still doesn’t have a problem tossing him out of her way, especially if he’s stopping her from achieving her goal. This is actually evidenced in the episode Black Friday, where Blackarachnia poisons Bumblebee and Prowl in an effort to make Optimus help her - she left the anti-venom needed to save the two mechs beside them, even though she didn’t actually have to. This gave Optimus hope that beneath all of her hatred, Elita was still in there somewhere.
She also has a devilish tendency to 'seduce' nearly any male in sight, depending on what she needs at the moment. She's not against using her femininity to get what she wants or to distract, and she's a magnificent liar - lying directly to your face is something she doesn't mind doing.
She's manipulative and calculating and uses people and mechs to their fullest extent before tossing them aside. She plays on emotions and caters to whatever she thinks people want to hear, pretending to be a friend and lend a sympathetic ear before she turns around and backstabs them.
Throughout the series, Blackarachnia nearly makes herself irredeemable. Her lust to purge herself has her doing some pretty unforgivable things -- like turning poor Wasp into Waspinator at the end. However, she redeems herself by rescuing everyone on Dinobot island by encasing herself and the ready to transport Wasp in webbing, successfully keeping the entire place from either blowing up, or going with him.
It's really difficult to say if Blackarachnia really had that goodness inside of her all along as Optimus so desperately wanted to believe. At times, it seems as if she's had a change of heart and that she truly isn't as despicable as she appears, yet she consistently proves that she has been overcome and corrupted by her hatred for not only her organic half, but also of Optimus as well.
Or at least, perhaps that is what she would like us to think.
Deep down, buried beneath years and years worth of hatred and bitterness, there is goodness -- it just hasn't seen the light of day in a very, very long time.
*Powers/Abilities:
Blackarachnia has a fairly powerful venom that can paralyze and even kill if she wants it to. The venom seems to last a decent amount of time especially if the mech in question is given an extra dose (2 megacycles, an example being Bumblebee and Prowl while Blackarachnia made Optimus and Grimlock seek out the genetic modifier Meltdown needed in order to complete the experiment). She also has the ability to use a sticky weblike substance to trap her 'victims', ala Spiderman.
Because of her organic half, her energy signature is undetectable.
She retains Elita’s defense mechanism – the ability to touch another ‘Bot and absorb their powers for a short period of time. It seems to last about five to ten minutes, depending on the ability and how many times she's used it previously without letting it recharge.

If AU, how does your character differ from canon?: (Non AU apps may ignore this question. CRAUs and OAUs should get in to specifics here regarding what changes there are from their character's original canon. We'll need at least a paragraph explaining details.)

Well. This is certainly an...interesting development.
[Purr.]
At any rate, Grimlock, where are you darling, hmm? [INFERNAL DINOBOT.]
Blackarachnia has need of your services, if you please. And truly, sweetie -- you really don't want to keep me waiting.
Third Person Sample:
It's fascinating the things people don't realize they've done and the effect their actions have on others.
Mechs and organics alike could go an entire lifetime without ever truly realizing just how much they've influenced another person's life with just their actions (sometimes even words). It can be a positive or negative outcome, regardless of what the intent was.
Blackarachnia rather thought that her case was a distinctly negative one, though there were those among the Decepticon ranks that would likely disagree (she was useful, her power intriguing) with her hatred of her organic half. Regardless, Blackarachnia loathed what she had become due to a specific incident so many stellar cycles ago.
Optimus' decision to not go back for Elita-1 had doomed her, and ever since she'd carried a grudge the size of Cybertron and a hatred for Autobots (especially Optimus) so deep that it seemed hard-wired into her systems. No longer was she the bright yellow Elita-1 from the Autobot Academy; the smart and spunky cadet that had many friends and few enemies. Elita had died that day, and Blackarachnia had been born.
Standing there on top of that hill with the chilly wind breezing across outer components, she shivered. This wasn't supposed to be how things turned out, how things were meant to be. She wasn't supposed to be the bad guy, the monster that she'd become.
Straightening herself, she shook off her misgivings and the fleeting notion that perhaps Optimus could help. It was a ridiculous notion; she'd be hauled immediately back to Cybertron and handed over to scientists to study and examine. That was not going to happen.
That's what trusting an Autobot would get you. Nothing but trouble, pain, and anger. She vowed then and there to never do it again, no matter what sweet promises they might spout. They can't help her; only she can help herself.
And here -- wherever here might be after she had transported with Wasp -- it seemed like she was might be able to do just that.
